What are we looking for?
We are looking for an ambitious and talented profile to join our Sales Department as Sales Analyst, located at our offices en Dallas (US)
Mission
Provide strong support to the Sales team for both Bertolli and Carapelli brands, while fostering a deeper understanding of Deoleo business across the organization, leveraging advanced tools and, most importantly, actionable insights that drive profit and growth.
Key Responsabilities
• Data Management and Tool Development: Manage and integrate various internal and external data sources to create, maintain, and enhance tools used by different teams across the company. These tools will help extract insights efficiently, supporting business decisions. The analyst will take ownership of these tools, constantly seeking innovative ways to look at data and communicate findings to drive business growth. Collaboration with the Catman team is essential to provide data-driven opportunities for customer meetings.
• Business Analysis and Insights: Deliver ongoing analysis of customer performance and market/channel trends. This includes evaluating category POS and internal sell-in volumes equipping the commercial team with insights to optimize trade spend and promotional strategies.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct specialized analysis for various accounts, assessing promotional effectiveness, competitive pricing, promotions, and lift factors. Connect multiple data inputs (e.g., POS value and volume, competitors, internal revenue) to provide comprehensive insights.
• Forecasting and Planning Support: Assist the commercial team in achieving accurate forecasting by calculating baselines per item and account, providing recommendations for promotional lift factors, and forecasting new item volumes. Enhance forecast methodology by analyzing seasonal trends and implementing them into forecasting software. Support the RBM team by ensuring accurate promotional data entry from account planners into trade management systems.
• Category Management and Customer Engagement: Work closely with the Catman team to prepare category reviews and customer meeting materials, including slides and sales stories, with minimal guidance. Be ready to attend customer meetings and even present sections of the decks.
Education
BS/BA degree in a business discipline or equivalent experience
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in Sales, Category Management, or Planning within a CPG organization.
- Proven ability to work with diverse data sources and strong analytical skills.
- Experience with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, Spins) is a plus.
- Highly skilled in a commercial mindset and understanding marketing and sales principles.
- Familiarity with data analysis and forecasting methods.
Competencies
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Process-oriented, fact-based, and a sense of urgency.
- Quick learner with a proactive approach to applying new technologies.
- Strong analytical skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (DAX, Power Query (M)) and PowerPoint.
- Advanced skills in Power BI or Tableau preferred.
